Without it all sorts of terrible things could happen to your beloved clothings. And you wouldn't want to buy another clothes would you? A cashmere can last your whole life if you care for it properly. That is why cashmeres aren't just normal clothes, they're a lifelong investment.

After Winter, and when things are starting to warm up a bit, you should get ready to store your cashmere until it is needed next time. Before you store it, you should wash it (the guide to washing cashmere is also on this blog). This is to get rid of all the body oils and dead skin cells and hair that are on the cashmere. Moths love cashmere, and think of it as destroyed if you did not wash it before storing it. If the clothing can not be washed, leave in a freezer overnight. Freezing will also increase cashmere's condition. Then mothballs or chemicals that prevent moths from eating your cashmere must be kept with the clothes. Cashmere is, like I said before, is like a Moth's version of a chocolate cake. Delicious, warm and soft. Without a proper precaution, you may risk the possibility of opening up your cashmere later and find out that you could hardly call it clothes.

After you have done the above, you should fold it up neatly and place it in a cotton breathable bag. Never a plastic bag because Cashmere clothings need to be able to breathe.

However, caring is much easier during the winter when you are actively using the cashmere clothing. The only thing to remember is that you should never hang your cashmere up. This is because the clothing can get saggy and disfigured. They must always be folded up and placed in a drawer.

Cashmere is certainly not the most robust fabric in the world. However, with proper precaution and common sense, caring for cashmere clothing is quite truly easy.

Cashmere Clothing: How to wash cashmere

Cashmere is a very delicate fabric, and should usually be dry cleaned, or if it can be hand washed, taken to a washing store. Washing it can actually make the fabric softer, further enhancing the feel of cashmere and the warmth. However, if you do not want to send your beautiful cashmere to a cleaner, you can wash it by yourself if you know the right way to do so. Cashmere, as I said before, is very delicate, and strong force should not be used as it might damage the fibres. Also, avoid sunlight and hanging it outside, since it will go out of shape.

Before you do anything, you must check the label on your cashmere to make sure it can be hand washed. Usually a knitted clothing can be washed while woven ones need to be dry cleaned. However, you should still check the label as it might be different for that clothing. Also, make sure that the detergent you are using is specially for cashmere or for a delicate fabric. If it isn't it will damage the fabric.

Method:
1.Add a little detergent to lukewarm water in the sink. The solution should be hand mixed before washing your clothing.

2.Place your clothing in the solution and move it around, also squishing the cashmere gently allowing the detergent to soak the fabric. Let the clothing sit in the solution for approximately fifteen minutes and massage it softly only if needed. Rubbing cause cashmere fibres to get damaged.

3.Empty the sink of the solution and fill with clean lukewarm water. Lightly massage the clean water through the fabric and get rid of the detergents and the residue. Keep on repeating this process until all the soap has been removed from the cashmere.

4.Lift the soap-free clothes out of the water and gently squeeze out the water, placing the cashmere on a dry towel (make sure you only squeeze and not wring. The fabric will get damaged if you give it too much force). Roll the clothing up with the towel and push on to it to get rid of more water. If needed, you can use a second towel.

5.Roll the clothing back to normal and place it in its normal state.

6.The cashmere should then be placed on a dry towel and air dried. Placing the towel and the clothing on a drying race will speed up the process. Cashmere should not be in direct sunlight!

There you go! Now you can go and wash your cashmere clothing on your own without having to pay someone else to do it. It is quite simple once you know what you have to do. By the way, you should make sure that it is actually dried before tiding it up. If it is still a bit wet, the next time you wear it, it will have a very unpleasant mouldy smell comparable to a wet dog. Cashmere clothing are now less expensive to care for now that you can wash it yourself.

Cashmere Clothing: What is cashmere?

Cashmere is a type of wool that is noted for its lightness and the silky feel, with an amazing insulation quality that surpasses with ease the thick woollen sweaters that your nanny makes. Cashmere is seen as a luxury by many as it can only be produced from the undercoat of Kashmir goats, found mainly in Mongolia, with some found in Iran, China, Tibet, India, as well as farms in America.

Cashmere is collected from the goats during the moulting season, when Kashmir goats shed their coats, or by shearing them. The habitat of the Kashmir goats are mainly desert, so they have the undercoat to protect themselves during the extremely cold winter.

Quality of cashmere depends on the area of the goat it is taken from. The cashmere taken from the stomach and the throat are the best quality ones and are longer than cashmere taken from the legs and the back. The better quality cashmeres tend to be longer than those found on the back and the legs, and is less heavier. This allows companies to create a good quality clothing, made from cashmere from the belly and the throat, for rich people, and the lesser quality version for those who cannot afford the better quality one. However, it should be kept in mind that although it may be heavier than the good quality clothing, it is still of a very good standard, and surpasses many other clothes not made of cashmere.

Cashmere is usually white, brown or black. However, clothing can be bought in any colour, owing to the fact that it is very easy to dye cashmere. Cashmere clothing is very popular and is a must-have for anyone living in a cold climate. After trying out cashmere clothes, you will never go back to the knitted sweater your nanny sent for Christmas.

Cashmere Clothing: Welcome

Welcome to Cashmere clothing.
